Resumo

This dissertation presents an analysis of Keila Sankofa´s artistic works. Who does she think she is? A question that crosses many black bodies. The social performativities involved in models and structured relationships in the domains of the body. In this sense, the general objectives are based on analyzing the works of Keila Sankofa, a black artist from Amazonas, and the processes of reconfiguration of ethnic-racial identity and emancipation on black bodies through art, memory, identity and reconnection with ancestors and your body. Thinking about the complexity of being black and this non-place in which they are inserted, we seek na interdisciplinar and ethnographic methodology, using authors such as Max Weber (1999), Michel Foucault (2008), Pierre Bourdieu (2011) and black intellectuals such as Frantz Fenon (2008), Achille Mbembe (2018), Sueli Carneiro (2005) and Abdias do Nascimento (2016). For this, we prepared a brief context of what it is to be black in Brazil, in the first chapter. In the second, we work on the figure of the black person in the Amazon and his process of erasing books and the public domain. The third chapter, the afrocentric art of Keila Sankofa, who is she anyway? A multi-artist who, in her artistic and performing works, puts the black person in the first person, assuming the protagonismo of her own stories, rescuing beauty, healing, the cleanliness of her image, Afrocentric art as liberation. The artistic calls herself an Afrofuturist artist, as she is in the future of her ancestry and now demands to be heard, seen and understood, thinking of the community as an instrument of social change and resuming her rightful place in the city and on the streets, a cradle ancestral.
