Resumo
The state of Amazon by the geographic reasons and because its Amazon forest, its biodiversity and traditional knowledge its plant species may ultimately make itself a hub of use of medicinal plants in the world providing additional value to the drug product and not just a mere supplier raw material. Industries that use the open model can decrease the cost and time of development, which imposes competitive advantages. Pharmaceutical companies around the world are embracing the concept of open innovation as an innovation strategy, showing very promising when it comes to increasing market competitiveness. This research sought to answer the problems of Open Innovation to the following question: What are the practices of Open Innovation that are being used by companies of the Phytochemical and Phytosanitary Cosmetic sector of DIMPE and its importance to improving the competitiveness of these companies? Aimed to propose a model of the practice of open innovation strategy in a company's Phytochemical and Phyto-cosmetics sector in the Industrial District of the Middle and Small Enterprise Industrial Complex (Distrito Industrial da Média e Pequena Empresa – DIMPE). The research was classified as descriptive as it is a case study, document, literature, survey, qualitative, for evaluating the different contingency factors of the environment of micro companies located in DIMPE. For the analysis of the data collected in this research, the research procedures were combined direct approach proposed by Mintzberg (1979).
