A dinâmica figuracional dos piabeiros do Rio Negro

Abstract

This research is an investigation on the figurational dynamics of the piabeiros of the Negro River. We will analyze the historical constitution of the piabeiro as a result of the Amazonian sociocultural formation highlighting its class structure and the representation of the groups that composed it along this path, from colonization to contemporaneity, through the their sociocultural practices showing that their ethos - way of life is closely related to the figurations to which actions of the civilizing process are inserted. Its general objective is: To analyze the figurations of the piabeiros of the Negro River in the networks of interdependence created by human interactions between the social groups involved in the process of catching, negotiating and exporting ornamental fish. As specific objectives: a) to present the historical constitution of this man designated piabeiro; b) to characterize the networks of interdependence showing the power relations in this process of capture, negotiation and export of ornamental fish;c) show the figuracional ethos of piabeiro and their socio-cultural practices; d) analyze the economic importance of small-scale fishing on the rio Negro ornamental with its statistical data, challenges and possibilities; The research will make use of Ethnography to register the figurative through the instruments of the life story, field study, structured interviews and participant observation. As for the method, we try for inductive where research is descriptive and explanatory, making use of a procedural approach, figuracional proposed by Norbert Elias and your interpreter in the Amazon Gláucio Matos.
