Gestão territorial na comunidade São Francisco no Careiro da Várzea (Amazonas, Brasil)

Abstract

The present work presents a vast bibliographical research that, allied to the research in loco, made possible the process of its intellectual craft. Tools adapted and adapted to the reality of those involved in the field research were used, namely, open interviews and forms with questions relevant to the theme, as well as the categories of analysis chosen for a better understanding of territory management in the São Francisco Community. Thus, territorial management, agroecosystems and governance were the 03 (three) categories of analysis that guided the research and contributed to the achievement of its general objective, which was to analyze territorial management in the São Francisco Community in the municipality of Careiro da Várzea (AM) , and also the reach of the specific objectives, which unfolded in 03 (three) chapters, each one addressed essential questions for the elucidation of how the territorial management happens in the study area. Studies regarding the management of territories are present in the academy, but few are focused on the Amazonian reality of the floodplain environments. The communities located in the Amazonian floodplains are a place of rich biodiversity and culture for the riverside people who live there, in addition to great socioeconomic importance, as it is where much of the food consumed in the cities and capitals is produced. Therefore, studies related to these agroecosystems are essential for their better understanding and for public policies to be created and implemented in order to more assertively contemplate the social subjects who live and exercise their territoriality in these locations.
