Resumo
The present dissertation work aimed to determine the nutritional plan with ideal sodium levels for muscovy ducks in housing. This study was conducted in the facilities of Poultry Sector, College of Agrarian Sciences, Federal University of Amazonas, Manaus, Amazonas State, Brazil. The stages used to manage the animals were: initial (1 to 35 days), growth (36 to 70) and termination (71 to 90 day). The experimental design was completely randomized, with the treatments consisting by five nutritional plans with different levels of sodium and four replicates of ten birds each. 200 muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata domesticus) of creole lineage were used. Were evaluated performance and carcass yields of birds. The data collected were submitted to analysis of variance, and the means were compared by Tukey test at 5% of significance using the GLM procedure of SAS statistical program. No differences (p>0.05) were observed for feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion between treatments. The carcass yield was not influenced (p> 0.05) by sodium levels evaluated. Differences (p<0.05) were observed on thigh yield, length, width and height of chest, and length and pH of leg. The nutritional plan 1 (0.35%, 0.40% and 0.45% sodium) presented the better results.
