Paratletas lesionados em acidentes de trânsito e corporeidade: significados da vivência sob a ótica da Fenomenologia de Merleau-Ponty

Abstract

Contemporaneity has been marked by a multitude of events that, almost always bewildering, cause a series of situations that, roughly speaking, given their abruptness, hurt, mark, injure, disable. Traffic accidents cause all these aspects. However, there are people who, even in the face of their physiological condition, seek to overcome the setback that occurred through sport, they are the Parathletes. Scientific production has been reduced in this context, thus, the questions come in the sense of appropriating the look that these people cast on their daily life. The objective of this work is to understand the meanings of corporeity for Parathletes injured in traffic accidents from the perspective of Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenology of Perception. In this attempt, we interviewed para-athletes who practice wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball and, based on the phenomenological-psychological method of qualitative research in psychology, we sought to understand the discourse of this other. To do so, we resorted to a phenomenological interview, audio recorded and which started with a guiding question and that possibly presented developments. The interviews were transcribed in full, the Units of Meaning were identified and the Thematic Categories were elaborated, which motivated the production of four articles, the first article entitled Life Trajectories: the historicity of parathletes from a traffic accident to admission in parasports, the second article, which received the title O Mundo Vivido – the stage of motricity of people with disabilities in dissonance with the Brazilian Law of Inclusion (LBI) n° 13.146/2015, the third article called Intercorporeity: the intersubjective subjectivity of the parathlete in being-with-the-other from Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenology of Perception and the last article, which received the title Corporeidade – the perceptual experience of the parathlete through the motricity of the capable-body. The analysis of the interviews was carried out from the theoretical contribution of Maurice Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology, in the end, we believe we have understood the conception of corporeity of Parathletes injured in traffic accidents from their perceptive experiences.
