Resumo

This work sought to understand how family farmers organize their activities in agroecosystems in a terra firme environment in the region of Alto Solimões. The motivation for this research emerged from the possibility of developing a methodology of transdisciplinary teaching that deals with the ecosystem dynamics pertinent to the terra firme environment. Therefore, the objective of this study consisted in the elaboration of a pedagogical material, thus specifying the characterization of the components of the familiar agroecosystems, their importance and purpose of use; the influence of the pulse of the waters in the organization of these agroecosystems; and the identification of the strategies of organization adopted by the families that contribute to the conservation of agroecosystems. The study was guided by the Systemic Complexity theory, used to understand the environmental dynamics and the forms of production carried out in agroecosystems, with recursion as a guiding principle, since it was intended to understand the interrelationship between the water pulse and the activities engaged by family farmers. The field research was guided by the Single-Case Study with multiple analysis units, considering that the studied phenomenon represents a common case, considering that other human groups that inhabit the region are influenced by the water pulse. The study was carried out in family agroecosystems located on the banks of the igarapé Urumutum, in the municipality of Tabatinga-AM, and the research subjects were the families that perform productive activities characteristic of the family agriculture on the banks of the igarapé, in the area comprised by the Rio Tacana PDS. The research revealed that the pulse of the waters, guides the lives of family farmers and are fundamental to the organization and maintenance of agroecosystems on land. As a result of this research, a pedagogical game was developed aimed at the teaching of Environmental Sciences in Basic Education, where its conception and development was based on the farmers' knowledge about the familiar agroecosystems of terra firme and the influence of the pulse of the waters in the process organization of these agroecosystems.
