Resumo
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that persists as a worldwide public health problem. The increase in cases of drug-resistant tuberculosis (TBDR) makes the control of the disease more complex and difficult. The use of technologies and actions that favor shared care and adherence to treatment at all levels of health care are necessary. In order to build and validate an educational technology for the guidance and monitoring of people with drug-resistant tuberculosis, a methodological study was carried out, using the qualitative and quantitative approach to prepare a booklet whose construction took place in two stages: integrative review of literature and contribution of TBDR patients, through the action research method; and content validation, with the participation of expert judges in the health field and the like, using different instruments for each group. In the research results, the effective contribution of 30 carriers of drug-resistant tuberculosis and 15 expert judges stood out, totaling 100% of the expected. The quantitative analysis of expert judges in the health area had a general agreement rate of 93.02%. The evaluation by expert judges from other areas had a percentage of 94.87%. These percentages show that the passbook can be considered statistically valid in all its aspects by both groups of judges. In the validation process, there were suggestions that were analyzed and accepted as they were considered relevant for the final version of the booklet. During the elaboration and validation of this technology, the great interest of the target population and of the expert judges was perceived, as they consider the material important for monitoring users during treatment in the health network of the Unified Health System (SUS). However, there is a need for further research to assess the effectiveness of using this technology in the routine of services, in order to increase adherence to the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis and contribute to reducing the transmission of resistant strains in the population.
