Situação sociolinguística da Língua Baniwa na Comunidade Castelo Branco do Médio Rio Içana

Abstract

This work sumarize the results of a master's degree research carried out in the Graduate Program in Letters (PPGL) of the Federal University of Amazonas and whose main objective is to show elements about the Sociolinguistic Situation in the Castelo Branco Community of the Middle Rio Içana, as recorded in its title. The research was carried out by an indigenous person from the investigated community and, therefore, its first part is presented in the first person and in an investigator-centered perspective. In this first part, information about the author, the community, the region and the Baniwa are presented. Secondly, the theoretical framework is presented, which is based on sociolinguistic works with indigenous communities published in Portuguese. A review of previous work on the Baniwa language is also presented. Next, the procedures for the construction and development of the research are detailed. In the penultimate chapter, the research results are presented based on the analysis of the applied questionnaires with the author's observations and analysis. The last chapter presents final considerations about the research, highlighting its contributions.
