Economia Sateré-Mawé e o mercado do artesanato: resistências e transformações

Abstract

The dissertation whose theme: “Sateré-Mawé Economy and the handicraft market: resistances and transformations”, held in the city of Parintins / AM, with Sateré-Mawé Indians over 18 years old, residents of Parintins, residents of the Casa de Indígómetro Transit and / or with their own residence, an indigenous entrepreneur with an emphasis on the handicraft sector and / or beneficiation of products from the vegetal extraction of organic origin from TI Andirá Marau. The research was motivated by the interest in knowing how the commerce of indigenous handicrafts in the city has been occupying a role in the process of social and economic organization Sateré-Mawé. Main objective is related to the knowledge of the Sateré-Mawé economy, from the handicraft segment, considering its production, organization and commercialization around Parintins / Am, identifying how the handicraft is included in the current economic scenario of the municipality. It is a research with Qualitative method, exploratory and descriptive approach, the instruments and data collection were performed from the bibliographic survey after a thorough selection of the read works, as well as the realization of semi-structured conversations with the collaborating subjects, visual data analysis. such as photographs, maps, charts, and tables. During the research process until its completion it was possible to know aspects of Sateré-Mawé individuals' gaze on the relationship between their material production, with emphasis on wood crafts and the economy of their people in the current context. Craftsmanship as a segment of the indigenous economy is not an isolated activity; it is associated with other economic activities in the life of the Sateré-Mawé people. Indigenous peoples resist and transform their worldviews and interpret through art their relationship with the socio-cultural, environmental and cosmological environment. In this way, the work of handicrafts presents their fears and longings before life
