In the last twenty years, Brazil has witnessed the circulation, most obviously, the so-called popular newspapers, which served as a focused approach to the demands of local communities, with outstanding records of cases of violence, problems in health care system, education, security, among others. The arising of these newspapers on a larger scale took place on the one hand, the economic changes in the country especially in the last decade, changes which favored consumption, including those products, with the advent of the readers with particular interests and different expectations of those identified in the traditional press. By the other hand, the tabloids present as an alternative to democratization and access to information, using references of locations where they circulate, which is reflected in language, in the format and in the approaches taken. This research, which aimed to observe the ecosystem profile of such newspapers, whereas, therefore, the theoretical basis of Communicative Ecosystems, currently expanding field in communication studies, as well as Ecolinguistics, appeared as important, so it helped us understand the role of popular newspapers in the social environment and the implications of their existence. With the option of documentary and bibliographic research, and through analysis of the three newspaper covers that circulate daily in the city of Manaus, we understand that it was possible to advance a broader understanding of these newspapers.
