Gestão pública orientada para a sustentabilidade ambiental: um estudo de caso sobre o modelo adotado na Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Amazonas

Abstract

The vulnerability of the population and the environment and the potential impact of human activities, supported by the cash flow and the development of technologies require a new form of public management able to validate the quality of life. The state is imposed the duty to carry out possible actions to achieve sustainability, and each federal entity and every organ of public administration employ efforts to achieve the purpose intended by the highest card. In this sense, the following question based on good practices of environmental responsibility applied to public administration, seen in the context of environmental governance arises in this regard would be: how the ALEAM shows in its administrative practices in environmental sustainability? The general objective was to analyze the environmental management process of the Amazonas State Legislature - ALEAM, identifying the results achieved with the practices for the preservation of the environment in the period of the Integrated Management System - SGI. The specific objectives: (a) point through literature, the main movements for the environment and sustainability that have occurred around the world; (B) describe the process of implementation of the Environmental Management System in ALEAM; (C) outline the strengths and weaknesses of administrative practices, the implementation of the Environmental Management System - SGA ALEAM; (D) propose a framework of suggestions for improvements. The methodology used was a descriptive case study with participant observation of a qualitative nature. Finally, this research identified the tools used in environmental protection ALEAM in the context of sustainable development, enjoying the bases oriented public administration structure for sustainable development, in an attempt to join forces for the emergence of forms public administration who practice a more balanced, fair and in harmony with the environment.
