Se espremer... sai sangue!" : Relação mídia, (In)segurança pública, medo e controle criminal da pobreza

Abstract

This research is based on documentary and bibliographic research on fear of crime, social imaginary of the crime, in this communication phenomenon constructed by the news media printed on crime and violence. Investigating the formation of discursive image of the fear of crime, present in news stories about criminal offenses recorded in sections Everyday and City of daily publications “Dez Minutos” and “Manaus Hoje”, between the years 2009 to 2012, this dissertation seeks to discuss the content analysis ideology on fear of crime imbued with the image of the victim and "Potential Offender" infraction of news investigated. To this end, we focused on the scientific literature in the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, Applied Social as sociology, history, social sciences, psychology and law, for three purposes: 1) to understand the forms used by the journals to represent the meanings to themes violence and crime; 2) identify the route patêmico identities present in narrative journalism, the Victim and the "Potential Offender" structured in the image of fear of crime; 3) assess the ideological extension on crime from 2009-2012 built by the newspapers "Dez Minutos" and "Manaus Hoje" in order to social and discursive mechanisms promoters recognition of social values on fear of crime.
