Entre o sentir e o agir: a cidadania ambiental na APA Floresta Manaós

Abstract

Arrogated by environmental citizenship, citizens denounce the relevance and repercussion of their behavior in promoting sustainability as a relationship of the right to enjoy and preserve a balanced environment for the next generations and the duty to act in support of a collective good, in defense of life. In this sense, the exercise of environmental citizenship aims to live in a sustainable way so that others can live well. The thesis is a case study with a qualitative approach in the dialectics of systemic complexity constituting a triad of analysis, namely: topophilia, mobilization and virtue, being transversalized by the theme of environmental citizenship, this method aimed at analytical inflections of the conceptual and referential frameworks of the thesis, understanding the existing interactions between its constituent dimensions. It will be observed the adoption of various methodological tools due to the complexity of developments in the categories of analysis. Participating in the study were residents, teachers, students, administrators, service providers, legal users, higher education institution managers, association presidents or responsible persons and key environmental informants. The first chapter addresses the environmental history of the research locus, contextualizing on the process of struggles, advances and achievements in the environmental issue; the second chapter deals with the topophilic feeling emanated by the subjects interviewed and its relationship with the exercise of environmental citizenship; the third exposes the willingness of popular mobilization in the defense of this area of protection exhorted by the private and collective activities of performance and to conclude the fourth chapter alluding to virtuous environmental ethics. The thesis elucidates the complexity between the feeling of acting and the exercise of environmental citizenship enshrined in the APA Manaós Forest.
