Análise das ocorrências de queimadas urbanas na cidade de Manaus, AM

Abstract

The research aims at provoking the debate about the urban burnings, mainly in Manaus, for being one of the great environmental problems of the present time, causing consequences in local, regional and global scale. From the analysis of these occurrences, since 2003 to 2017, were obtained results that allow to subsidize the planning of fruitful actions to control this environmental impact, namely: the normal fire season for the city of Manaus begins in july and runs through november, because of the higher index of correlation with the number of occurrences of urban fires and, also, its relation with the other climatic elements, with the month of august presented the greatest risk for these occurrences; the vegetation is the combustible material with the highest incidence in the urban burnings in Manaus and the Zona Urbana Norte and the Cidade Nova neighborhood, the largest number of these occurrences of the whole studied period were concentrated; we defined the total occurrences for day of the week and the period of the day from 12:01 to 18:00, as the one with the highest incidence of these occurrences. Finally, urban burnings in Manaus have a predominance of combustible material from vegetation, possibly originating from the cleaning of backyards and abandoned land, with a peak occurrence record in August, becoming essential for that month, or preferably in of public policies, including public urban cleaning, as well as awareness programs and environmental education, especially the exercise of police power by the Municipal Public Administration to regulate preventive and repressive action that to decrease the environmental impacts related to the urban burnings in Manaus-AM.
