Transcidadania: luta pelo reconhecimento na construção da cidadania trans em Manaus/AM

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the process of recognition of the construction of citizenship of transgender people from the discourse of the subjects in the city of Manaus / AM. We seek to dialogue from the perspective of transgender subjects who were inside and outside the social movement, as well as the institutional agents who were in charge of serving these people, in public policy actions and programs and in the recognition of gender identities that guarantee the citizenship of these subjects in Manaus. To achieve these goals, we worked on this research in the light of discourse analysis, where exploratory research was conducted, with an interview using a semi-structured form with open and closed questions, with 12 recognized trans people, 03 institutional agents working in public services. and 03 social agents representing social movements. The proposed theme dealt with the issues surrounding the realization (or not) of trans citizenship in Manaus, in addition to this, others became fundamental for such analysis, such as Identity, Body, Gender, State and Transgender. We seek to carry out an in-depth analysis of such categories for a discussion that contemplates mechanisms that would enable us to understand the challenges present in the recognition and struggle for the construction of trans citizenship in Manaus. The research showed us, from the speeches of the interviewees and the interviewees that there is still a long way to go in the construction of the citizenship of trans people in Manaus, considering the non-compliance with the specificities necessary for the construction of an identity policy, as well as the lack of recognition in the scope of policies that meet fundamental and human rights
