Resumo
This research aims to verify, in volumes of the seventh year of basic education, the systems of equations in three collections of textbooks adopted by teachers from state public schools in the urban area of the city of Manaus, under the perspective of the theory of records of semiotic representation developed by Raymond Duval. It was in the National Curriculum Parameters - NCP’s – Mathematics - Basic Education, and on the Basis of Common National Curriculum (BCNC), observes the recommendations relating to the content of algebra. It was used as methodology the qualitative approach, bibliographic character, documentary and interpretive. This study revealed the absence of geometric language in all specimens analyzed and, besides that, that the systems of equations of textbooks is selected with the use of the records of natural language, the symbolic record, the algebraic language, but in an isolated manner and not as suggested by the theory of Duval, in other words, performing an exchange of a record to another.
