Resumo

The purpose of this paper is to present the importance of the History of Mathematics and of the exercises in the teaching of algebraic equations in particular, being used as a teaching tool for the 1st and 2nd degree equations that are taught in the third and fourth cycles respectively, In addition to bringing a proposal of teaching to the Complex Numbers, being taught through its history and the equations of the third degree, in the third year of high school. To do this, we present a history of the algebraic equations from 1st to 4th grade so that we can use as a basis for our lesson script, and also as a source of inquiry. Thus, we suggest a script for the teaching of the 1st and 2nd grade equations and also for the teaching of complex numbers, using as a tool, in the first case, the History of Mathematics and the Problem Exercises, and in the second, the History of Mathematics and The equations of the third degree. The main objectives of these scripts and why they teach those subjects in this way are detailed in this work.
