Resumo
The university is a potential reference for the transformation of society as it is the
largest producer of knowledge, responsible for training professionals. In this sense,
environmentalizing the curricula of HEIs is a means of including environmental issues
in a critical and reflective way with the aim of training professionals with environmental
responsibility and commitment, using principles and values in the different roles they
assume. This research aimed to analyze the measurement of environmentalization
indicators established by the Higher Education Curricular Environmentalization
Network, in the curricula of four undergraduate courses at the Federal University of
Amazonas and their contributions to the construction of sustainable societies. The
research is qualitative using document analysis and Bardin Content Analysis
techniques. The documentary analysis consisted of institutional documents:
Institutional Development Plan - PDI/UFAM 2016-2025, Institutional Pedagogical
Project - PPI/UFAM 2016-2025 and curricular documents: Course Pedagogical
Projects - PPC, Syllabuses of the Curricular Components, the Curricular Guidelines of
four degree courses from the four major teaching areas at UFAM: Law (Area of Human
Sciences), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Area of Exact Sciences), Agronomy
(Area of Agricultural Sciences) and Biotechnology (Area of Biological Sciences). The
results found in the courses investigated indicate that UFAM curricula, depending on
the area of knowledge they belong to, more or less frequently include Curricular
Environmentalization. Therefore, this is an institution partially committed to curricular
environmentalization, since the evidence found was mostly isolated without the
practice of one of the principles emphasized in the ACES Network and in the UFAM
Environmental Plan, transversality and interdisciplinarity. This would include the use of
the theme throughout the course, effectively promoting an environmental commitment.
