Resumo
The use of composite wood beams, formed by the union of small parts , has gained importance in the structural timber industry in Brazil , mainly due to the scarcity of large solid pieces. This study aimed to theoretical and experimental study of composite laminated beams using two species of Amazonian woods, going against the various theories that MLC must be built with low-density woods with a single species. The experimental verification of theoretical models to study was made by means of bending tests on prototype composed of two (2) species Itaúba (Mezilaurus itaúba) and Cumaru (Dipteryx odorata (Aub). Wil) beams. In conclusion , it consists of more than one wood species of the Amazon beams can be produced , provided that take into account the similarity of the physical properties of the species to use the appropriate adhesive as was verified in this study .
