Das sombras ao protagonismo: relações de gênero: a inserção das mulheres no universo do jornalismo esportivo de Manaus

Abstract

Sports journalism has been gaining prominence over the years, although this does not mean that to run a career (or even to consolidate it) is an easy task. Even more difficult when one is a woman, since this branch of journalism is dominated by men. The inclusion of women in the sportsbooks of print newspapers and radio appears to be more complex than on TV. In view of this factor, it is sought to analyze how the work and the acceptance of women in this journalistic specialty, besides the symbolic question linked to the activities considered as masculine or feminine, as well as the necessary elements to exercise the profession in the sports books of newspapers printed The Critic, Amazonas In Time, Diário do Amazonas and diffuser radio in Amazonas. Why do editors only scale women to write about Olympic sports? Is there a set of skills and competencies to be a sports journalist? These are questions that serve as a basis for the proposed analysis. This is a qualitative research with the objective of identifying the processes of insertion of women in printed and radio sports journalism in Manaus, from 2009 to 2014. The choice of the period, as well as the journalistic companies, was made based on the participation of women in this issue (in previous or later times, women did not work simultaneously in such companies, it was and is rather sporadic). Methodology is based on the empirical inductive method, with the purpose of elaborating the profile of the women who worked in the period to be studied, from the interviews. The research technique to be used will be the open interview, with the purpose of obtaining data referring to the most diverse aspects of the social life of the subjects; experiences. This element will allow you to check the challenges and pleasures of this activity. Among those interviewed will be sports journalists and editor-in-chiefs.
