Resumo
The development of polymeric hybrid composite materials using synthetic and natural compounds as reinforcement is growing and has been occupying several market segments, due to the low cost of fibers, and the fact that they have good mechanical properties, in contrast, carbon nanotubes have a high cost, however, diversified features allow it to have a range of applications. In this research, hybrid composites were developed from jute fiber and carbon nanotube in a polypropylene matrix. To obtain the specimen, jute fiber was incorporated into the polymeric matrix at 9.09%, and then extruded and injected, while the carbon nanotube (NTC) was mixed at 0.5% together with the pellets. J / PP (Jute / Polypropylene) then Injected. The mechanical properties of these materials were studied through standardized tests of tensile strength and impact resistance. The addition of fibers to the polypropylene matrix provided an increase in maximum strength and elongation, respectively, of approximately 2.14% and 0.4%, compared to the hybrid composite J / PP / NTC (jute / polypropylene / carbon nanotube), however in the modulus of elasticity there was a decrease of 44% in relation to the hybrid (J / PP / NTC). When comparing the impact resistance values of the composite (J / PP) with the hybrid (J / PP / NTC) there was an increase of 4.48% for the hybrid. Jute (J / PP) and Hybrid (J / PP / NTC) composites were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (MET), Fourier Transform Infrared Radiation (RITF), Spectroscopy of X-ray Dispersive Energy (EEDR), Thermogravimetric Analysis (ATG), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (CED), these characterizations were performed in order to obtain elements that indicate changes in morphology, as well as differences in matrix structures, which influence temperatures important processing and the connection bands corresponding to each element (Jute, Polypropylene, Carbon Nanotube). The results obtained demonstrate the influence of the insertion of Jute fiber and carbon nanotube on the mechanical properties and suggest an industrial application of the final product.
