Tecnologia de cuidado de Enfermagem para redução do estresse em pacientes internados em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva

Resumo

Introduction: Nursing care in the ICU environment can become technicist, mainly because it is a closed and highly complex sector. The intensive care team directs care to the procedures, focusing on the patient's recovery and discharge process. Objective: To propose a technology of nursing care to reduce stress in patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Methodology: This is a methodological study, which will use qualitative and quantitative data, for the development of nursing care technology to reduce stress in patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The study will be carried out in two stages: 1. Stage: Analysis of hospitalization records to investigate the cause and length of hospitalization and socioeconomic conditions, through Semi-structured Form (APPENDIX 1); Application of the questionnaire validated in Portuguese version Environmental Stressor Questionnaire - ESQ (ANNEX 1) ;. 2. Stage: Development of nursing care technology to reduce stress in patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Results: After applying the validated ESQ questionnaire and analyzing the responses, the stressors during ICU admission that obtained the highest score were: being awakened by the nursing staff, having lights on constantly, missing the partner, not having control over oneself, seeing family and friends for just a few minutes a day, listening to unknown sounds and noises, feeling afraid of dying and not being able to sleep were identified as the main causes of stress. Final considerations: Care practices need to be rethought if we start from the assumption of holistic care, treating the patient's disease is different from providing care during hospitalization, both complement each other.
