Manejo agro-extrativista do açaí-da-mata na Amazônia Central

Abstract

This research aims to contribute to a better understanding of human and social aspects that determine whether or not the collection of native forest açaí palm fruit, Euterpe precatoria, happens by smallholders settled in the lower Manacapuru River . To this aim, proposes to study the distribution and propagation of the species in the forest as well as usual domestication and cultivation practices by smallholder families. It also seeks to understand the difficulties and feasibility of agro-extractive activities, access to forest areas with native açaí palm fruit potential and the complex social relationships that can be barriers or facilities for the insertion of the product in market logic.
