Resumo

In poultry industry, the hatchery plays a fundamental role in this context due to the production of new birds to supply the farms. Technological innovation research since egg collection to hatchery are fundamental to allow the development of this area, where biotechnologies as in ovo feeding are pointed. In ovo feeding, or injection, is a recent study area and involves the exogenous supply of nutrients to the poultry embryo via amniotic fluid or allantois aiming to provide significant improvements in its development and post-hatch performance. Front this, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects and biological potential of lyophilized fish protein for in ovo feeding. Initially, 400 eggs from 27 weeks old Label Rouge breeders were incubated. After 16 days, egg candling was performed to select fertile eggs that were used in the research. Fertile eggs were distributed in a completely randomized design where the treatments will be constituted by two controls (intact eggs and buffered saline solution) and different in ovo injection concentrations of lyophilized fish protein (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5%) with 39 replicates each, being the egg considered a replication. The analyses made were according to the composition of the freeze-dried fish used, incubation yields of the birds, serum biochemical parameters of the chicks at hatching, and morphological and histological development of the gastrointestinal tract. From the results obtained, it was possible to determine that, despite the low hatchability in higher levels, the in ovo feeding provided good results for the intestinal development and body weight of the chicks in inclusion levels of 0,5% and 1,0% without compromising the physiology.
