Resumo
The central issue of this study is the teachers education, as being the object of
empirical research the implementation the Escola Ativa Program (EAP) - in the state
of Amazonas. The general objective of the study was to verify and analyze the
process of the teachers education for multiseries classes in rural schools developed
by the Escola Ativa Program in the Metropolitan Area of Manaus and its contribution
to improving the teaching and learning process in the schools where it was
implemented. The study begun from the thesis that: the teachers education promoted
by the Escola Ativa Program contributed to the improvement of the teaching/learning
process in the schools where it was implemented. To explain the result of this study,
it was sought to answer the guiding questions proposed for the study. The period of
study was from 2004 to 2010. The field of research, which is the practical reference
of this study, is the Metropolitan Area of Manaus composed of eight cities that serve
children in the initial years of Elementary School in schools with multisseries classes
and, as respondent subjects, were selected those who were compliant with its policy.
Initially, a theoretical approach was taken on teacher education in Brazil, then a
historical contextualization about the origin of Program both in Brazil and in
Amazonas State, and finally the presentation and analysis of the empirical data
collected from the respondent subjects. The factor wich contribuited the most to the
arduous implementation of EAP in Amazonas was the geographic context and, in
order to overcome the difficulties, one of the most highlighted was the commitment of
those responsible for implementing the Program. The result of the investigation
confirmed the proposed thesis. In 2011, EAP was extinguished and the National
Program of Field Education (PRONACAMPO) emerged in 2012, as a new policy to
attend the rural education. With this policy, the Escola Ativa Program was renamed
to Escola da Terra. Therefore, the need for a new study from this perspective is
indicated.
