Resumo
The research was carried out in an Educational Institution of the Private Network of Manaus-Am, with two teachers and one teacher through an individual interview, online. With the aim of investigating the view of teachers about the factors that affect gender relations in the school context and verifying how these education professionals act in the face of gender demands in the classroom, considering the importance of the school as a space for debates, discussions and critical reflections in order to combat prejudice, discrimination and promote gender equity. It is believed that education is one of the means by which gender equity can be promoted, thus reducing the number of violence against women. The results point out: (i) the role of the school as a reproducer of stereotypes of femininity and masculinity (ii) gaps in the training of educators regarding gender issues. The school space, therefore, does not present itself as an environment of equitable relationships and learning in which there are reflections and confrontation of inequality processes, but a place that generates and reproduces an education based on sexism.
