Pirólise da biomassa Amazônica: parâmetros cinéticos e termodinâmicos usando análise termogravimétrica

Resumo

The Amazon region has several sources of biomass for renewable energy generation. They are by-products generated from the processing of fruits. Pyrolysis converts biomass into coal, biogas and bio-oil. To achieve maximum energy generation capacity, a detailed understanding of the thermal, kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of biomass pyrolysis is mandatory. This work aimed to investigate the energy potential of acai (Euterpe oleracea Mart.), buriti (Mauritia flexuosa L.f.), inajá (Attalea maripa Aubl. Mart.) and peach palm (Bactris gasipaes Kunth) seeds via thermogravimetric analysis. Thermal analysis was performed in the range of 30-900°C under an inert atmosphere at various heating rates. Isoconversional models, Ozawa-Flynn-Wall (FWO), Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS), Starink, Tang and Vyazovkin were used to determine the kinetic parameters, activation energy (Eα), pre-exponential factor and reaction model. Thermodynamic parameters (ΔG, ΔH and ΔS) and gases evolved during pyrolysis were determined using thermogravimetry coupled with mass spectrometry (TG/MS). There are four chapters. The first was related to the introduction. The second chapter dealt with the kinetic study of the pyrolysis of acai seed biomass, with an average Eα equal to 159.12 kJ/mol (FWO) and 157.62 kJ/mol (KAS). The third showed the result of the pyrolysis kinetics of buriti and inaja seeds, with an average Eα of 146.84 (FWO), 144.99 (KAS), 144.21 (Starink), 145.28 (Tang) and 145, 36 kJ/mol (Vyazovkin) for buriti seed and 115.88 (FWO), 112.01 (KAS), 111.52 (Starink), 112.37 (Tang) and 112.38 kJ/mol (Vyazovkin ) for inajá seed. The fourth addressed the bioenergetic potential of peach palm seed with Eα averages of 155.00 (FWO), 153.22 (KAS), 153.61 (Starink) and 153.5 kJ/mol (Vyazovkin). With the acquisition of this set of data, it is expected to contribute to the improvement of information on residual Amazonian biomasses, and future application in pyrolysis process and to add value to lignocellulosic residues.
