Gerenciamento dos resíduos sólidos: a percepção ambiental da população de Itacoatiara - AM

Abstract

The debate on Urban Solid Waste is still a major dispute in the municipal political sphere. As a result, many challenges arise when considering the circulation of solid waste in urban spaces, from generation, packaging, treatment and disposal to final destination. And in this context, the core of this research is to analyze the environmental perception of residents of the Colônia, Jauary I and Tiradentes neighborhoods, in relation to the management of Urban Solid Waste in Itacoatiara, Amazonas (a Brazilian municipality located in the Metropolitan Region of Manaus). As for technical procedures, data collection and open interviews were used, which were applied to a group of residents of the selected neighborhoods with a total sample of 90 residents, this total being divided between the three neighborhoods (30 in each neighborhood). A questionnaire was also applied to garbage collectors, totaling 16 people. The collected data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel software spreadsheets and tables or graphs were produced with the purpose of analyzing the results of the questions, elucidating them with raw numbers or percentages, which will make graphical representation possible in three chapters, in the different contexts covered. . From this perspective, the scientific complexity of this work proposes to support the production of knowledge, through vital data obtained on urban solid waste, within the issues discussed, with the intention of expanding knowledge through scientific productions and discussions on a strategic plan to be implemented.
