Resumo
This research aimed to make analysis of the occurrences of the most common diseases that
affect the workmen absenteeism in a transforming area in the Amazonas industry, such as we
Thermal Transfer Ribbon (TTR) . Absenteeism is an event related to the employee's absence
from their work activities, causing negative impacts on the productivity and profitability of
organizations. It is very important to analyze diseases which most isolate workmen from their
working post, for it gives us a very clear idea of such absenses and so, can help the organization
to take actions to reduce such occurrences. For this purpose it as carried out a field research
to collect informations through from 187 medical certificates which were given to the
workmen for 12 months period and registered by a report on Microsoft Office Excel basis.
Afterwards, it were checked out all the collected data, in order to identify the main turning
away reasons from the jobs, diseases which showed casual connections with the work, or rather
epidemiologically related to the National Classified Economic Activity (CNAE) from the
surveyed industry, according to the Technical Epidemiologic Nexus of Social Security
(NTEP) and Accidentary Prevention Factor (FAP) and finally calculated the indexes of frequency
of sick leave rates and returning people, average duration of absences and finally, all
expenses spent during those absent days. The results showed the diseases that most caused
absences were uterine leiomyomas (23.38%), convalescence after surgery (18.41%), impingement
syndrome (16.92%), varicose veins without ulcer or inflammation (7.96%), pain in
the thoracic spine with physiotherapy treatment and vascular headache with the same percentage
of incidence (7.46%), right / left syndrome (6.47%), low back pain and conjunctivitis also
with the same percentage (4.48%) and wrist and hand injury caused by work accident
(2.99%). The results confirmed that the absenteeism disease are episodes that occurrences
frequently in the studied industry, impact on its productivity and may, according to the methodology
of the NTEP increase the FAP and consequently the rates for payment of Social Security.
