A influência da língua materna na produção de textos em língua inglesa de alunos do curso de letras do IEAA - UFAM

Abstract

This research had as it main objective to analyze texts in English Language regarding to the influences of the Mother Tongue in the written production. The corpus of the research consisted of thirteen texts produced by students of Language Course during their formation. For the theoretical framework, we searched for elements of Contrastive Linguistics, highlighting concepts of analysis models linked to it: Contrastive Analysis, Error Analysis and Interlingua, all fields anchored on Applied Linguistics studies, seeking to understand and verify the imbrications of the Mother Tongue on teaching learning of English as a Foreign Language. For this, a bibliographic research was carried out considering authors such as Corder (1974), Durão (2004) Ellis (1994; 1998; 1999), Figueiredo (1997), Lado (1957), Selinker (1972), among others, who supported the theoretical reflection on the teaching-learning of languages and written production. These authors subsidized the theoretical discussion both for the choice of analysis and methodological procedures. The research is mostly qualitative in nature, but presenting some quantitative data, it was a case study for which data were generated from the use of a Profile Questionnaire and texts produced by the participants. From the analyzes of the corpus of the research, it was observed that the participants present in their writing influences of the Mother Tongue on the Foreign Language, whether at the syntactic, semantic, morphological, as well as in orthographic topics, but they also make deviations that are not directly linked with the influence of the Mother Tongue.
