Abstract

This research analyzed the forms of representation of the People Mura both regarding the discursive image as the pictorial image of colonialism era to the present day. The model that guided the methodological process of this work was based on desk research, which delimited the structure of social thought in the stereotypical image of the consolidation of indigenous people Mura, and is supported by studies of postcolonial criticism as a backdrop thus enabling the understanding that the process of occupation and Amazon ownership in recent decades been founded on the belief of modernization as the only force able to "develop" the region, regardless of their social cost, cultural or political. The central objective of this work was to bring to light for which prospects took the consolidation of this image made on the Mura. The nature of the study was qualitative with an emphasis on documentary approach, the method used is the deductive comparison in order to verify the essentialities and differences between various types of cultural events, contributing to the understanding of human behavior and finding the relationships that exist between the same.
