Resumo
The evaluation of stricto sensu training is essential to offer monitoring and monitoring of
the training process. And, in this sense, the perspective of the graduates is important to contribute
to the training process and maintain or increase the quality of the program, recognizing the
existing difficulties and the possibilities for overcoming them. Thus, the present research aimed
to analyze the contribution of PPGENF UEPA/UFAM to the training of qualified human
resources, from the perspective of its graduates, identifying the technological, economic, social
and political impacts. This is a qualitative study, conducted through a case study, with in-person
and remote interviews. The interviews were guided by an open, semi-structured form, and began
after approval by the Ethics and Research Committee (CEP). Documentary research was also
conducted on documents relevant to the PPGENF and CAPES assessments. The analysis was
carried out by triangulation of sources, in a dialectical way, with data contextualization and
discussion with the literature. The perspective of the graduates, taking into account the research
objectives that gave fruit to this dissertation, were presented in three broad categories, according
to each specific objective proposed to meet the general objective of the research, namely: (a)
Potentials and limitations stricto sensu formation; (b) The effects of training on the social and
professional lives of graduates; (c) Incentives for the continuous search for academic and
professional improvement. It was possible to identify that the training offered more positive than
negative impacts on the lives of the graduates, although negative ones also appeared. The training
had its limitations, but the degree allowed advances and significantly enhanced the personal and
professional lives of graduates. There was emphasis on gaining knowledge and its impact on
professional practice, as well as encouragement by course teachers to seek continuous
improvement. Negative and positive technological, social, political and economic impacts were identified.
