Aspectos da produção da guaranicultura nos municípios de Apuí e Urucará no período de 1990 à 2007: a produtividade da terra

Abstract

The guaranicultura economic activity is a very traditional standing crop in the north, especially in the state of Amazonas. The major producers are located in the Region of Lower and Middle Amazon, and Maués Urucará. However, the municipality Apuí stands by the productivity of their crop. In order to investigate the performance of this activity, this research aimed to: analyze the factors of production as well as, technical assistance received and / or sought by producers in the counties of guarana and Apuí Urucará, from 1990 to 2007, and as specific objectives: a) verify the use and productivity of the land factor in the culture in question, b) studying the behavior of production, and c) to identify farmers who received technical assistance or not. The data used to answer these goals are secondary in nature, since all of them were collected from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE, more precisely, the Municipal Agricultural Production - WFP and Agricultural Census 2006. The study revealed that in the North and their states, there was a decrease in planted area of guarana, and only the Acre achieved positive growth of about 60%, which undoubtedly contributed to the increased production of guarana that State. Of all the cities studied, we observed that the behavior of productivity (kg / ha), tended to an upward growth, with the exception of Boa Vista do Ramos, a municipality that had a negative growth of 0.2% between 1990 to 2007.
