A rua como lar: invisibilidade de pessoas em situação de rua no centro de Manaus

Abstract

The paper aims to analyze relations between the public discourse on social marginality and the specific ways of life developed by the marginalized. We tried to problematize and contribute to elucidate questions regarding the city and the occupation of space. Were observed the circulations of people with their life stories, dreams, hopes and stigmas. The predominance of sociocultural transformations, adaptability and resistance to the new, hostility and receptivity within the city. Aiming understand historical factors, it was perceived how public spaces are experienced, organized and perceived by the homeless of Manaus.
