Resumo

The study deals with a doctoral research with a central objective of investigating the production of the knowledge generated by the dissertations and theses of professors of FEFF-UFAM. The methodological course was configured by a descriptive exploratory case study and as a procedure, the bibliographical and documentary analysis, besides the use of the "paradigmatic scheme or epistemological matrix", a research instrument designed to evaluate scientific production, with the combination qualitative and quantitative techniques used in a complementary way. The sources were constituted by the dissertations and theses of the teachers produced between 1981 and 2014, as well as their lattes curricula. The information was categorized identified and analyzed through statistical files, forms and tabulations to obtain the critical analysis on the productions. The initial results identified 33 dissertations and 18 theses, highlighting the Southeast as the region with the highest achievement of the studies. Thematic areas of the studies with the most emphasis were sports training, in the master's degree (39.39%) and, in the doctorate, sports training, Inclusion and difference with (22.23%). The regional problems were highlighted with greater interest in the studies of the teachers, 22 (69.69%) in the state of Amazonas and in the doctorate 9 (50%) also in Amazonas. These indicators denote the relationship of research with local identity and also with the researcher's challenge in tracing decisive actions that lead to improvements social rights. The most used research instrument was the tests, both in the masters (48.7%) and in the doctorate (30.4%). The descriptive research prevailed in the master's degree with (29.4%) and doctorate (26.3%). The techniques used were quantitative in both, masters (69.69%) and PhD (44.44%). On the epistemological approach used the predominance was the empirical analytic tendency, master (78.78%) and doctoral (61.11%). The results indicate that the studies evolved and followed the trends of PE in Brazil, however, with roots based on the biological sciences and technical aspects. Concerning the impacts on the regional demands, the results show that even in adverse conditions there were sensitive impacts from FEFF-UFAM teachers' productions in Amazonas.
