Plantas Medicinais da Amazônia: Bioeconomia e desenvolvimento sustentável de cadeias produtivas

Abstract

The organization and improvement of Amazonian production chains, in addition to increasing their efficiency, reduces the risk of investments by companies in various sectors, including herbal medicines, biopharmaceuticals, cosmetics, vegetable oils, and others. The objective of this book was to map the most robust Amazonian production chains for biodiversity products, from a critical scientific perspective, based on current regulations, addressing various factors directly and indirectly related to the economic success of different sustainable production models within the Amazon rainforest. This information can be glimpsed in this work, which will also highlight the challenges and opportunities for the sectors: business, government, and even non-governmental organizations, working to promote Amazonian development, with environmental sustainability and the inclusion of local communities.
