Estudo da estabilidade preliminar de formulações contendo extrato de mururé (Brosimum acutifolium)

Resumo

The species Brosimum acutifolium Huber, popularly known as “mururé”, is used in northern Brazilian culture to treat rheumatism, muscle, and bone pain. The part used is the bark of the trunk, which is cut into small pieces, put into alcohol for two days, after which the liquid is applied topically. Some studies have already proven an antiinflammatory. Therefore, this work aimed evaluating the viability of two gel formulations from Brazilian Pharmacopoeia Formulary, F1 (carbopol base gel) and F2 (carbopol base gel + camphor + menthol) on carring the hydroethanolic extract of Brosimum acutifolium, through preliminary stability following the methods indicated by ANVISA. The comparison between initial and after tests macroscopic samples characteristics did not reveal physical changes that could be considered instability or incompatibility among the components of both formulations. However, after the heat/cool cicles, both formulations showed statistically significant variations regarding on pH e viscosity. This fact could indicate the occurrence of incompatibility between the extract and some component of the formultions since both control formulations had remained the same. Thus, the impossibility of incorporating this extract in this base was confirmed.
