Resumo

Access to higher education institutions by wheelchair users was mainly through the quota system in Brazilian universities, which was established by Law 13,409. The objective of this study is to analyze the literature on the inclusion of wheelchairs students in universities. The methods used were through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The results and discussions regarding data organization of the data were presented in three categories: 1) Unpreparedness on the part of Students and Teachers; 2) Accessibility in the Institution; 3) Lack of Administration regarding resources at the University. However, analyzing the selected articles made it possible to identify that the inclusion of students in institutions still needs improvements and adjustments. In conclusion, in the face of all the obstacles to be overcome in the future, wheelchair users should be emphasized as active subjects capable of reconstructing individual values and practices to guide conduct in daily social relations, improve accessibility regulations, and raise awareness in society to accept, without prejudice and discrimination, a more diverse and just scenario.
