Tradução e interpretação em Libras em Manaus/AM: conexões Socioculturais na Formação e atuação Profissional

Abstract

This research was carried out with the purpose of bringing possible reflections on the formation and performance of the professional translator interpreter of Libras, in various contexts of our society, demonstrating how the trajectory of the emergence of this profession took place and its importance as a means of accessibility for the deaf community of Manaus to the Graduate Program in Society and Culture in the Amazon – PPGSCA, where to share the difficulties and barriers faced by this professional and the challenges in the present day. The research is qualitative, as it was a bibliographic and field study based on experiences and information obtained by professionals who work in the area of translation and interpretation, as well as on the information obtained by the deaf community of Manaus, regarding the performance and accessibility provided by the presence of this professional.
