Resumo
Motorcycles are responsible for a large part of traffic accidents and around 28% end up being fatal. The fragility of this vehicle along with the dangerous driving, use of cell phones, drugs and others corroborate this statistic. Another important fact is the indemnities paid by the type of vehicle, which, according to Seguradora Líder-DPVAT, were 77% of the total indemnities paid in 2019 and 79% in 2020. Given this fact, it's necessary the development alternatives that add efforts to minimize this problem. The use of technology and automation can help reduce the negative rates of this problem, as its use can improve decision-making in the real scenario, avoiding collisions and fatal accidents. In this context, this work aims at the development of a low-cost, active anti-collision safety prototype for motorcycles. For the development of the prototype it was used Design Thinking. The prototype was tested in a controlled environment and shown good results for future iterations in the product development process.
