Resumo
The present work aims to present an experience report on the application of dances from northern culture in the 1st year of high school during my participation in the Pedagogical Residency Program, promoted by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) as a Physical Education subproject. In this context, a team of academics from the Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy – FEFF, of the Federal University of Amazonas – UFAM was assigned to the Sólon de Lucena State School, located in Bairro São Geraldo, Manaus-AM and I was part of that team. From this perspective, this Course Conclusion Work consists of reporting my experience, presenting how theoretical and practical activities were developed around the teaching of dances from northern culture. I observed that these contents, when developed at school, bring students closer to regional culture. It can be mentioned that students become social actors in rescuing and valuing this culture.
