Avaliação do equilíbrio de corredores amadores antes e após uma corrida de rua: estudo descritivo transversal observacional

Resumo

The aim of this study was to evaluate balance variations in amateur runners before and after a street race in the municipality of Coari-AM. This was a descriptive cross-sectional observational study. The study consisted of 47 runners aged between 17 and 72 years, 32 men and 15 women, who took part in a 3 km and 5 km race. All the participants were assessed using the Wii Balance Board (WBB) before and after the race. The balance of the runners was analyzed by comparing the differences between male and female athletes, as well as the difference in routes. The data was analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, as well as homogeneity using the Levene test. Differences were checked using the ANOVA test and Tukey's test, with a significance level of p < 0.05. The data was analyzed using Jamovi Training (version 2.2.5 for Windows). It was found that athletes of both sexes and from different routes showed greater imbalance after the race, with a significant intra-group difference, but there was no significant inter-group difference. We conclude that street running can change the balance of amateur athletes, regardless of the course and gender.
